In every profession, growing professionally and knowing one's craft is essential.  Education alone is always changing and evolving.  When one adds technology into the equation, it is exponentially important and necessary.  Not only do we need to know what is already being used in classrooms, we constantly have to keep up with newer and better (sometimes) software, hardware, and how they fit in various learning environments.

Receiving quality and timely feedback is also very important.  Our organization has adopted a 360/180 degree feedback model.  It is not used for evaluation, but solely for the individual to reflect and improve on his/her practice.  I am currently developing my own 360 survey with some colleagues.  I believe that in order to improve, I need critical evaluation and development within all areas of my job to improve my performance.
